Sugar cookies

My love and I hosted an ugly sweater party before the holidays and made food I would love to share. They are simple but delicious. We doubled the recipe, I will give you both versions regular and doubled. We did ice the sugar cookies but no photo was taken of them.

I was sent this recipe just as what you see, once I find the website I will edit the source!

Regular batch:
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Doubled batch:
1 1/2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt

Mix thoroughly with butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, blend flour, baking powder and salt. Mix together all ingredients. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least one hour.

Next, Preheat oven to 400, roll the dough out and cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet, bake 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are slightly brown.
