Some projects I've done in the past year..enjoy!


I've been wanting to make a blog for a few months now and finally got the courage to do so.. so here I go! The purpose of this blog is to show my progress with my adventures with cooking, knitting, and any other crafts that I may do in the future.

 Here are some knitting projects I've worked on this past year.. I have given away quite a few projects as gifts that aren't in these pictures but I hope you enjoy! 



In the upper left photo I have a scarf, fingerless gloves, and boot cuffs.
 
In the lower left photo I have headbands  ( with and without a bow), a slouchy beanie, and two ear flap hats.

In the upper right photo I made my family ear flap hats for their Christmas presents based on the teams and colors they liked! 

In lower left photo are smaller crafts like the bird that I may turn it into an ornament and a bow that I may turn into a headband.

This has been my go to dessert as of late. It's relatively healthy compared to most desserts which is nice, especially around the holiday season! You can poach either an apple or pear.  Here is how to make it.. Poach an apple or pear in either 1/4 cup wine (I used any white wine we had opened) or water, let simmer for 5-10 minutes. Next, you can add any spices you would like but I used cinnamon and topped it with whipped cream. Here it is!

Pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw

Pulled pork sandwiches are so yummy! I made these a while ago and they were a hit. I found this recipe at  http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/BBQ-Pork-for-Sandwiches/Detail.aspx?evt19=1 The link isn't working unless you copy and paste into a search engine Ingredients: 3 pound boneless pork shoulder cut 2 packs of buns coleslaw and dressing this recipe calls for 1 can of beef broth I made my own broth with beef bouillon and water. I used the paste, the ratio to this was 1 tsp to 8 oz. boiling water. I used  1.5   tsp to 10.5 oz water. Then I added the broth into the crock pot followed by the pork. Let this cook for 5.5 hours and then shred the meat.  Once I shredded the meat, I took out some of the broth mix and put the meat back into the pot and added BBQ sauce. I put this on simmer for 20 minutes While this is cooking, I combined the coleslaw and dressing mix. I poured the cabbage a little at a time with the sauce over. Bon ap...
